Teaching Philosophy
There are many things that I believe are incredibly important to implement to ensure the best learning environment possible is created.
Positive learning environment: The classroom should be an inviting place where students are able to feel comfortable and enjoy their time. With this type of environment, students are willing to be more vulnerable with any lingering questions and their overall learning.
Building Relationships: Building relationships within a classroom allows students to build support for their learning amongst their peers and teachers. Relationships between parents & teachers, and teachers & co-workers are also highly valuable in the teaching profession. With proper communication and relationships, we have the ability to enhance the learning of the students.
Collaboration: Through collaboration with peers, students are challenged to communicate the learned material with their peers. This has the ability to improve the student’s communication skills and overall understanding of the subject.
Every student can achieve: Some students are unaware of what they are fully capable of. With the proper feedback and resources, teachers can be of great assistance in proving to students just exactly what they are capable of. With the use of formative assessment and resources, teachers can take students learning to the next level.
Provide tangents to everyday life and other subject areas: Making connections with what you are teaching to everyday life and/or other subjects makes taught material more meaningful! The information that is being communicated is also more likely to be retained.
Technology in Education: Technology is continuously improving and its uses within the classroom can be considerably valuable. If used properly, technology has the ability to make lessons more effective. By incorporating technology, students become aware of what is available and how to use it effectively.
